Ingredients
- 400 grams fresh strawberries
- 150 grams of sugar, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Method
- Cut the strawberries into large chunks .
- Put them in a saucepan along with the sugar.
- Place over medium heat and, stirring occasionally, bring just to a boil.
- Lower the heat to the minimum and cook the mixture for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries are soft and their juices are thick.
- Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
- Place in a covered container and refrigerate.
- The Strawberry Compote can be stored in the refrigerator for about 20-25 days.
- It can even be freezed and be kept for a month or two.
