This Chocolate Orange Marble Cake is what happens when two of my favourite flavours refuse to pick a side. Chocolate and orange just make sense together — one rich and deep, the other bright and citrusy — and instead of choosing one for this loaf, I let both share the same tin. Half the batter turns citrusy and bright with orange zest, the other half goes rich and dark with melted chocolate and cocoa. Spoon them into the pan in turns, run a knife through in loops, and the oven takes care of the rest, giving you those swirls every single time without much effort on your part.

This Red Velvet Marble Cake doesn’t ask to be the centre of attention, and then quietly becomes exactly that. There’s something about it that makes people pause before cutting in — maybe it’s the swirl, maybe it’s the simplicity of it sitting there in its bundt shape, waiting.

I baked this for the first time on a Valentine’s Day — not because I’m someone who plans elaborate things for the fourteenth of February, but because I wanted something on the table that looked like effort without actually demanding a whole day in the kitchen. Red velvet has always felt a little indulgent to me, a little dressed-up, and pairing it with a simple vanilla pound cake batter felt like the right kind of balance — rich, but not over the top.

Marble cake: a classic dessert that is so loved.  Moist vanilla & chocolate cake, so soft,  it melts in your mouth! A simple but beautiful cake. It’s almost a comfort food for me – warm, spongy marble cake fresh out of the oven, Ah, bliss. While a chocolate  cake was always on top of my favourite cakes list, marble cake is also very close. My family drools over my cakes and this is one of their favorites too.

Eggless Choco-Vanilla Marble cake! (My anniversary cake baked by me)

It was my anniversary, and I had not baked any cake till afternoon. All the phone calls that were coming to wish me were having questions from family and friends, ” What cake you baked today for your anniversary?”, ” hey baked your cake?” and “Why haven’t you baked for yourself when you bake for everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries?”

And I was like, “Hey even I want someone to bake a cake for me. “But somehow these questions encouraged me and I was in the kitchen to bake a cake for hubby dear. Why to look for your happiness from others, when we can ourselves bring sunshine to us and to our loved ones. 🙂

So I decided to bake a random egg-less cake.

My mother was so fond of this cake,  that now it has become one of my favorites too, as a part of my missing her routine. (Since the time she left me in February, 2015) Every time I bake it, it reminds me of her expressions she had whenever she used to eat it. So here I am sharing the recipe of egg-less cake. This is my best tea-time cake, and simplest to make.
