Happy Monday you all beautiful people!

Today’s Monday Mantra is BE YOUR OWN KIND OF BEAUTIFUL.

We are all distinctively created, so why do we compare ourselves with others? In our heads, we always try to be a perfect person, and because of this we are often thinking of what people will say about us, the way we look, dress, the way we walk, talk, behave etc. Especially as women, I feel like there is this invisible range or standard by which we all measure ourselves. We sometimes do not embrace ourselves as we are and we feel ashamed of our skin colour, our body shape, or anything related to us. Instead, we should look at ourselves as individuals. We are all beautiful in our own way.

I had always found flaws in myself based on what other girls looked like. It wasn’t until my early twenties that I really realized how real of an issue this was. I wanted to fit in and feel accepted more than anything, so I tried to attain this unrealistic ‘perfect girl’ ideal. Ultimately, I was never happy with how I looked and didn’t find myself as beautiful. But I didn’t know at that time that how wrong I was. I thought beauty were my looks, when really it was my brain, my light-hearted humour, my love for helping others, and my ability to trust and to forgive and many other traits in me that made me beautiful. Being beautiful on the inside radiates to the outside. I understood the real meaning of beautiful. I came to know the real self of many of so called beautiful people, who were busy in not so beautiful activities.

The factuality of the topic is that beautiful can be defined in so many ways. What one person sees as “pleasing to the senses” may not be as pleasing to the other person. For someone, perfect make-up and branded clothes or fair complexion can be defined as beautiful, but I think your confidence, the smile on your face, the way you carry yourself in whatever you are wearing, is Beautiful.

Beauty is from within, which is long lasting!
Beauty can also be from the outside but this would be only temporary. This is not the real beauty! It fades away soon.
What happens after some time?
People who wanted to be with the beautiful you would befriend you and move on!

It is what you are as a person which counts, your values, your principles, your habits, your attitude,  how you interact with others around you,  do you respect them, do you help others out proactively etc. Embrace that you are different, and look for the good. We need to stop obsessively comparing ourselves and establish a new way of looking at beauty. Simply put, being your own kind of beautiful is being yourself daily!”

We have the ability to dream up our own definition of beautiful. For me, the way that I express myself , the way I stand for my family and loved ones, the way I respect my elders and the happy-go-lucky attitude I have towards life, no matters what the situation is…That’s beautiful. My curvy body type: That’s beautiful. The exact way that I am ….beautiful. I refuse to confine myself to someone else’s definition of the word. I have no desire to look like every other person trying to achieve the popular definition of beautiful. I have the desire to look like ME! I did not come this far in my life to just conform to everyone else’s desires.

Give importance to what is within you, cherish it and love yourself.
Finally, you have to lead your own life; no one else can live it for you. See beauty fades but what remain is you. You need to be yourself.

What is beauty anyway?  Beauty is the courage to let your inner light shine.  Be your own kind of beautiful and just shine.

TO BE BEAUTIFUL MEANS TO BE YOURSELF.YOU DON’T NEED TO BE ACCEPTED BY OTHERS. YOU NEED TO ACCEPT YOURSELF.
