Sugar & Spice and everything Nice, is what comes to my mind while I bake this simple yet yummy classic cake. This is an old school cake, when there were no fancy and electrical equipments to bake. The simplest recipe ever which everyone can bake.

So what are we waiting for! Let’s get started.

Ingredients:

2 Eggs

1 Cup Castor Sugar

1 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour

2 teaspoon baking powder

56 grams butter(you can take salted or unsalted, both

1 Cup Milk

Some melted butter

a mixture of cinnamon, white castor sugar and some brown sugar

Method:

  1. In a large bowl, beat eggs with a wire whisk.
  2. Add castor sugar and beat again until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a pan add butter and milk and bring it to a boil.
  4. Once the sugar and eggs are soft and creamy, add all purpose flour and the baking powder into it.
  5. Fold gently, until roughly mixed.
  6. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.
  7. Add the melted butter and mil mixture, and mix it gently until smooth and creamy.
  8. Shift the batter to an 8″ greased cake tin, lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake the cake at 180°C for about 30 minutes.
  10. Once its baked, take it out of the tin while it is hot.
  11. Take care you neither break the cake, as its fragile at this stage, nor you burn your hand, as the tin maybe quite hot.
  12. Once the cake is in the serving tray, brush some melted butter on the top.
  13. And lastly sprinkle some cinnamon & sugar over the top of the cake.
  14. Cut and serve this gorgeous piece of art.
